WHEN SHOULD YOU CALL YOUR PASTOR? Pastors are among the gifts given to the church by God for the perfectng of His people. God has called and assigned Watchmen and Women to lead us toward Spiritual Grace and Perfection. Their task is phenomenal. There are times in our everyday lives when we need their spiritual support on days other than Sunday. It's important to know when you should call your pastor: When You're Facing A Serious Problem - Most ministers have been trained to help people with their family, personal and other problems. Don't allow your problem to get too big for you. When Someone You Know is Interested in the Church - We constantly meet new people and have relationships with co-workers, neighbors, classmates and even family members who have not united with a local church. Put in a good word for your church and inform your pastor about perspective members. When There is Illness - Your pastor is as near as a phone call. His or her counsel and prayer will be very helpful when you or a loved one is sick. When There is Death - When a family member dies, CALL YOUR PASTOR FIRST! He or she can provide comfort and the proper directions concerning arrangements for the departed. When You Must Make an Important Decision - The view point of your pastor as a Spiritual Advisor can provide a different perspective and outlook of your situation. When There is a Wedding Being Planned - Marriage is a life long commitment and sould not be entered into lightly. Several counseling sessions with the pastor are mandatory by many pastors. When One Desires to Become a Christian - Tell your pastor about those you know who are conidering Salvation. He or she may want to meet with them personally. _____________________________________________________ |
